HIFUU CLUB - "REBORN PT.2" (15 min.)
RELEASED : September 5, 2024 CODE NUMBER AND FORMAT : NHC-0002 / YouTube Video + Digital Download REVIEW >>> The album starts with a low quality version of the Geddan song from the previous album. It's not slowed down too much and only the intro can be heard. The second track is a video game soundtrack that repeats sometimes, but it's not annoying like the previous album. The third track starts with a weird repeating instrumental. You can sometimes hear a distorted singer. The first song fades out and a different one fades in. You can hear repeating orchestral hits with unknown lyrics. The fourth track is relaxing and ethereal. It doesn't repeat, but the volume is adjusted. A singer can be heard at the end, but the lyrics are unknown again. The fifth track is a familiar pop song, It's repeating but not disturbing. It's a happy song. The singer sings "All the lonely things I think about" and "Would you want tell me?" a few times. The lyrics are sad unlike the melody. The sixth track is another pop song. It sounds familiar and catchy, but I'm not fluent enough to understand the lyrics. It repeats a couple of times and cuts to the next track abruptly. The seventh track is an advertisement for a Maxell video cassette. The eighth track is very disturbing. It's another familiar pop song, but the concerning lyrics are repeated over a happy. melody. The background singers are chanting "I got the feeling" and "I got the feeling it's over". The main singer repeatedly says "Sometimes, I can't go on, no". The ninth track is a calming piano with strings and a repeating Japanese dialog. The tenth track starts with a slow muffled song with unknown low pitched lyrics. After 30 seconds, it cuts to another song with the lyrics "It's never this easy at your love" repeating. A third song fades in with clear lyrics. The singer repeatedly sings the lyrics "Can you hear me calling?", "You know that I've fallen in love", and "Don't know what to say". The eleventh track is a repeating guitar stroke with a synth, and the twelveth track is a tape distortion. No song, no melody, only a machine noise. I liked this album. It's a similar idea but with a different execution compared to the previous one. Mostly happy, reminiscent, and sometimes disturbing. No overabundance of annoying sounds. Repeated lyrics add meaning and contrast to the melody. The lack of a music video leaves more room for interpretation. The girl on the album cover looks back at you with teary eyes, like how someone looks back at their memories knowing they can't be relived. It could be why REBORN was chosen as a name.
